Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Wim Bosch's renowned photo hut with my son, Dimitri. Known for its serene setup and prime location, this hideaway offered us the perfect backdrop to capture some of nature's most beautiful moments.
Armed with our cameras, we settled into the hut, eager to spot the wildlife that frequents the area. The morning was calm, and before long, the first visitor arrived—a quick-footed squirrel darting across the forest floor. Its bushy tail flicked as it searched for food, providing us with some fantastic close-up shots.
Birdlife was abundant. While I managed to identify a few species like the finch, woodpecker, and the always-charming robin, there were plenty of other feathered friends whose names eluded us. Each one brought a new opportunity to test our lenses, and even the smallest birds added a burst of colour and energy to the scene.
The real highlight of the day came when a buzzard—a regular in this area—flew in and perched on a nearby branch, where we had placed a lure. Watching this magnificent bird of prey up close was a rare treat, and we took full advantage of the opportunity to capture its striking features. There’s something awe-inspiring about seeing such a powerful bird in a moment of stillness, and getting those shots felt like a true achievement.
All in all, it was a wonderful day of bonding with Dimitri and immersing ourselves in nature’s wonders. We left with memory cards full of stunning shots and hearts full of appreciation for the wildlife around us.
If you're ever looking to experience nature photography in a tranquil setting, I highly recommend a visit to Wim Bosch's photo hut. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out, it's a place where nature comes alive right in front of your lens.
